Purple Dayi 1996 (10g)
The Purple Dayi 1996 is one of the first puerhs produced under the brand "Dayi" after the trade mark "Dayi" was registered. It is also the most famous from that year. This puerh has already developed secondary aroma and flavors: pencil lead, ginseng root, cedar wood, and black currant, with a hint of forest floor and almost no astringent. There is a tendency of consolidating ingredients**. The tea broth is lively and medium-bodied, and everything is in balance. The after-taste is lovely and here flavors, instead of bittersweet, are dominant! It is also giving out a hint of tertiary flavors that currently it is at the beginning of its third stage of development. A great tea!
** This would manifest into a sense of small particles on the palate, which in return would likely thicken up the broth.
